Community Outreach

POTLUCK WITH A PURPOSE
The Episcopal Church Women's (ECW) newest project is called 'Potluck With a Purpose'. Each volunteer Host/Hostess chooses the recipient for their event which expands the Trinity outreach by many times. The huge success of this program is possible because of the generous donations from the Trinity family. Many attend every event and make substantial contributions each time.
LAKESIDE MINISTRY
For years Trinity has served as the organizer and facilitator of a casual, non-denominational Sunday morning worship service held at Bonner's Point on Lake Jordan. The service is lead by ministers from various churches in Elmore County. Services are held at 8:00 am and start on the first Sunday after Memorial Day and conclude on the Sunday prior to Labor Day.
CHRISTMAS ANGELS
Just prior to Christmas, parishioners purchase food, clothing, and other gift items for disadvantaged families in the Elmore County area. In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, the items are wrapped and given as Christmas gifts.
TRINITY FARMERS MARKET
The Trinity Farmers Market provides 8-12 regional farmers a place to sell their fresh goods. In turn, the local community benefits from the availability of fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and honey as well as house plants. The market is open each Saturday morning throughout the summer and into the early fall. It is an exceptionally popular program provided by Trinity Episcopal Church.
ELMORE COUNTY FOOD PANTRY
The Elmore County Food Pantry serves more than 500 families throughout the county. Trinity participates by donating funds to purchase food for the Food Pantry and by collecting food each Sunday.
SAWYERVILLE DAY CAMP
Located in Hale County, Alabama, Sawyerville Day Camp is an annual camp for economically disadvantaged children and youth living in the Black Belt area. The no-cost camp is staffed by youth and adults from throughout the Diocese.
UNITED THANK OFFERING
Each year, Trinity participates in the United Thank Offering which addresses compelling human need through providing grants for projects that alleviate poverty, both domestically and internationally, within the Anglican provinces, dioceses, and companion dioceses.
