Rector's Welcome

Welcome to Trinity Episcopal Church, Wetumpka. Thank you for visiting our website!

We hope our website will help answer the questions most people want to know about a church: "What is this Church like; what are the people like; will my family fit here; will they help me find God?" While I cannot answer those questions, I can tell you what I've found in my three years here.

Trinity Church offers the visitor and newcomer a warm welcome; an opportunity to be as involved as they and their family want to be; engaging worship; an outstanding youth program; great Christian Formation (Sunday School) for all ages; and, many opportunities for everyone to find and live into the ministries to which God is calling them. We extend this welcome and invitation especially to all who may have particular reasons to think they may not be welcome because of physical appearance, physical or mental disability, ethnic or religious background, sexual orientation, financial circumstance, or past or present sins. All are welcome!

You will find that we are not all alike, either – all sorts and conditions of people make Trinity their church home. In general, we enjoy each other and our differences. Together, we laugh often, eat together often, become friends who enjoy each other in church and out. There is also a level of commitment to the church and to doing God’s work that is seldom found in other churches, all offered with a spirit of joy and fun that exhilarates everyone involved. If you want to serve, be it on Sunday or at other times, we have a place for you.

Many newcomers report a spirit of oneness and family here at Trinity. That is because the people of Trinity are a people of prayer. Daily, specific, on going prayer is part of our common life here. Everything we do – program, music, Christian Education, fellowship, stewardship, outreach -- all begin with prayer.

From this place of prayer, the Holy Spirit can and does call us to try new things, reach out to others and realize our own ministry, individually and as a community. Our place of prayer enables us to hear God's call to carry the spirit of joy, humor, forgiveness and peace into the world in many and varied ways.

Trinity and its people aren't perfect. We've had our problems and "tifs" in the past, and, inevitably will in the future. If you want perfection, better look for it elsewhere. But, if you want to be a part of a congregation that values each individual; people who, when they hurt one another are willing to say, "I'm sorry, please forgive me"; if you want to be part of a congregation that acts and feels like a family, Trinity may be for you.

On this website, you can learn about the Church, that is the people of Trinity Church. Information and pictures of our programs and activities are included. Explore it, look at our newsletters, special events, groups, opportunities for ministry and all the rest. We hope this will give you a taste of who we are as a parish. But, the only way to do that fully, is to come and see.

If you've been thinking, praying, searching and hoping for a place to belong, we hope you will visit. Our doors are open; our hearts are open and we will welcome you.
